How to be a daddy update
‘m already off to a bad start on how to be a daddy. It’s been almost been a month since my last post and that almost constitutes for child neglect for my blog. I manage a few different sites and the priority has been on them instead of this. Priorities have changed.

I’m going to make every effort to post more than twice a week moving forward. Though I have not been posting often, I have been trolling around many baby blogs and found some great stuff that I’d like to include to the site.
Since Baby Sexton is only 18 weeks along and the size of a bell pepper, it was not “real” to me. Once we found out the sex of the baby (future post coming) things were put into a new perspective.
I see that the blog has been getting traffic and though that’s not the primary focus of this site, I want to make my readers happy and chronicle the journey I am going on from being a new father.
My smart baby has a brain – Week 8
I am a bit behind on the posts. We are at week 10 so I am playing catch up. The big news from week 8 is that the baby is forming knees and lung pathways. Oh..ya, the brain is developing too. Because we all know my child is going to be a genius.
New this week: Webbed fingers and toes are poking out from your baby’s hands and feet, his eyelids practically cover his eyes, breathing tubes extend from his throat to the branches of his developing lungs, and his “tail” is just about gone. In his brain, nerve cells are branching out to connect with one another, forming primitive neural pathways. You may be daydreaming about your baby as one sex or the other, but the external genitals still haven’t developed enough to reveal whether you’re having a boy or a girl. Either way, your baby — about the size of a kidney bean — is constantly moving and shifting, though you still can’t feel it.
I like how the baby center explains this stuff. It’s easy for me to picture the little bean in my wifes belly but it makes eating food a bit disconcerning when I see something that has beans and I think I am ingesting thousands of little babies. Strange I know but that’s just how it is.
I love my Blueberry Baby – Week 7
Doubling in size and growing new parts, the little one is taking shape. I find it strange that I am so fascinated with this process but it just amazes me that we have such a vast amount of resources that an explain the entire incubation period of my little alien.
The big news this week: Hands and feet are emerging from developing arms and legs — although they look more like paddles at this point than the tiny, pudgy extremities you’re daydreaming about holding and tickling. Technically, your baby is still considered an embryo and has something of a small tail, which is an extension of her tailbone. The tail will disappear within a few weeks, but that’s the only thing getting smaller. Your baby has doubled in size since last week and now measures half an inch long, about the size of a blueberry.

Size of a blueberry and looks more like an alien every day. Mommy is doing well, mild symptoms but nothing severe. She does have this extra glow about her that I hear is normal. We started getting baby name books. were are still undecided if we want to know if it is a boy or a girl but we have a little while before that needs to be decided.
A mothers worst nightmare
I have a post coming very soon about the first ultrasound and my experience at an OB/GYN. Really, I never thought I’d find myself in a situation with my wife in a clinical setting like that. But in the mean time, here is a funny comic I found.
